INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEM
DESIGN
Introduction
Course Description
Designing a
learning system should be related to school and instructional planning. The
basic idea is to begin with a large body of textual materials relevant to the
discipline under study.
The designer picks
the concepts, principles, and skills to impart to learners from this body of
knowledge. The designer needs to concentrate on the most relevant and critical
aspects to be designed or learned at each stage of the learners’ development.
At this stage,
terminal objectives are written through the selection process. These objectives
are then broken down into enabling objectives and so on.
The primary goal of this course, therefore, is for students
to be led into how to use different components of the system to design
instructional package(s).
