In my previous post, we discussed the necessary
steps you should take if you want to teach history with ease. In today’s post,
we’ll be looking at the things a history should and shouldn’t do.

The history teacher has the obligation of
possessing a scholarly attitude.

He must be interested in making students
inquisitive, especially through the process of inincluden

him to see facts of history from other people’s perspectives.
· History teachers should be interested in
knowing the world around them and be able to study and present facts beyond a
single field of knowledge.

The competent history teacher ought to
arrest students’ interest and make the most of it.

He should be able to create a scenario
where learners find pleasure in learning and haexposeration for knowledge
acquisition.
· Among all History teachers should be
responsible for the welfare of their students and ensure that they value the
society they live in and contribute to the development of such society
immensely.
· The emotional balance of students should
be the focus of History teachers thereby developing in their students the confidence
of living a fulfilled life.
· There is a need for the interaction
between the teachers of history and students, history teachers should be that
of guidance and benefactors.
· With History teachers’ students learning experiences
should motivate students in having the desire to study further in life
· History teachers should be endowed wlove and immeasurable capacity for patience to make their students some
concepts of Hhat might seem difficult.
· History teacher is a manager of good
actstudent's The ability to manage the students and activitto haveunding
instruction is highly germane
· History teachers should have confidence in
themselves and be assured of the outcomes on their students.
A historyey should know their shortcomings as
well as their strength because if they are relatively secure, they would be
free to help others.
· Originality is a good feature of a history
teacher; such a teacher must be effective in foring resourceful.
· A good History teacher has respect for
human dignity and treats every student with respect and consideration.
· The methodologies of History teachers must
be unique to ensure that all categories of learners benefit from interaction
with them
· A teacher of History should contribute to
the development of students’ intellectual capacity specifically to make both the
present and the past live students worthwhile.
· History teachers are for-runners, who should
be dependable, authentic, prompt, loyal, polite, and systematic so that their
lessons satisfy their students’ curiosity.
· History teachers should be able to assist
students in navigating school activities and help them to acquire the required
skills to become successful.

History is a philosophical art of the triangular period, (the past, present, and the future). It engages a crucial and critical thought process to digest the best understanding and explanation of an event.
